Course and Degree Sequences
Early College Course & Degree Sequences
Below you will find links to our Course and Degree Sequences. These charts show a recommended four-year plan that outlines the Early College experience.
Graduating on Time with a High School Diploma and Associate Degree
The Early College program is designed to give students the opportunity to graduate in four years with both a high school diploma and an associate degree.
We understand that every student’s journey is different. Some students may:
- Need to complete remedial courses before taking college-level classes
- Find certain college courses more challenging
- Prefer a lighter course load to better balance academics and personal responsibilities
Because of this flexibility, Early College students may choose to approve a student for a fifth-year option, called the Super Senior Year. This additional year allows students to:
- Catch up on coursework
- Spread college classes out over five years
- Stay on track for graduation while reducing stress
Choosing a Degree Path
The Early College offers multiple associate degree options. Students may access any of the programs listed below, regardless of which Early College campus they attend.
Students will typically choose between the Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) degree during the second semester of their sophomore year based on their intent to study.
Associate Degree Options
Associate of Arts (AA)
The AA degree focuses on liberal arts and is ideal for students planning to transfer to a four-year college or university. Courses are comparable to freshman- and sophomore-level classes at most universities.
Associate of Arts Degree Information
Associate of Science (AS)
The AS degree is also designed for students planning to transfer to a four-year college or university, with a stronger emphasis on math and science coursework.
Associate of Science Degree Information
Associate of Applied Science (AAS)
The AAS degree is a technical degree focused on preparing students for specific career fields. While students with an AAS degree may attend a four-year college or university, some courses may not transfer.
